There are some unique words in GovCon. One of our favorites is “de-obligated” (which is not to be confused with “not obligated”).

It’s easy (and a little fun) to pick on these unique GovCon words. However, words mean things…and communication can easily go sideways when we use words that do not mean what we think they mean. This is especially common with words that mean one thing in GovCon but mean something different outside of GovCon.

The point of the GovCon Vocabulary Series to clear up the confusion around specific GovCon words. Here in Vol IV of the GovCon Vocab series, Kevin and Paul outline how the words “Proposal”” and “Tender” have different meanings in GovCon – and how misunderstanding them may cause missteps in communication, or not.

Enjoy!
